By Culture Campus | October 8, 2026 The weekend’s soundtrack is taking shape. Gunna has a new single on the way, Ovrkast. is preparing an album release, and Offset and Don Toliver have already gotten the music moving. Before the timeline decides what deserves your attention, give these records a chance to speak for themselves. Friday, October 9 brings Gunna’s “Pop It,” Ovrkast.’s STRIKING and Pitbull’s PITCOIN into the release schedule. Together, they give listeners a choice between a fresh single and two full projects to spend time with. For Gunna, “Pop It” is being presented as the opening of a new musical chapter. The Source reports that he unveiled the single’s artwork ahead of its October 9 arrival. That gives fans a date and a title; the record itself will have to earn its place in the rotation. Offset and Don Toliver got a head start. Although “Every Night” appears in the Friday roundup, HotNewHipHop’s individual song report dates its release to Thursday, October 8. The collaboration is part of the rollout for Offset’s upcoming GMFU, scheduled for October 23. You can check this one out ahead of the overnight releases. The pairing also has history. Don Toliver and Offset previously connected on “Worth It,” from Offset’s 2023 album SET IT OFF. Their return gives listeners another chance to hear how that partnership develops as Offset approaches his next project. On the album side, East Oakland rapper and producer Ovrkast. deserves a spot on the listening list. Apple Music lists STRIKING for October 9 with 12 tracks. Its rollout includes “WATA!” featuring Niontay and “KNOCK” featuring Samara Cyn and MAVI. For listeners interested in those collaborators, there is already a route into the project. Pitbull’s PITCOIN adds another full-length option, with Apple Music listing 24 tracks and an October 9 release date. Meanwhile, “Loaded” pairs Kemar McGregor and Rick Ross, according to McGregor’s own release announcement, which also points to Friday. The producer belongs in the credit when this record gets discussed. For the Culture Campus crowd, Ray Vaughn’s “Set It Off” and LaRussell, Reecebeats, Tietta and Splash’s “It’s All Love” belong on the watchlist, too. Both appear in HotNewHipHop’s October 9 roundup. Our editorial pick is to make room for these releases when building the weekend playlist. HotNewHipHop also lists the following releases for this week’s Friday slate. These are reported release plans as of October 8: Artist Release Doe Boy - MR. WALK EM DOWN

Jessie Reyez & Samara Cyn - FOR SIXXX IN THE MORNIN

KA$HDAMI - BLUEPRINT

Johnny Venus of EARTHGANG - THE 11TH HOUR

Devstacks - Soul

Almighty Jay - when?

KaMillion - Wus Up

ARDN & Devkota - SUPERNOVA

Delivery Boys - Young Grasshopper

Rexv2 featuring slayr - bowling

sixzino - Monster

HXG - MADNESS — tentative

HXG’s “MADNESS” carries a question mark in the source’s calendar, so its inclusion remains tentative. A release date gets a record in the door. Listeners decide what stays. Spend some time with the music, give an unfamiliar artist a fair listen, and bring your own opinion to the conversation.
